An Atlanta lawyer facing a $43,000 judgment was arrested Monday morning for bringing a loaded gun into the courthouse.
The lawyer, Rodd Walton of the Walton Law Group, is a former deputy counsel of Glock Inc., according to a profile on his firm’s website. Glock is the make of the gun allegedly tucked in his briefcase, according to the Fulton County Daily Report.
Walton was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a weapon into a public gathering, the story says. He was arrested Monday, the day he was to appear on a motion for reconsideration after he was ordered to pay $43,000 in attorney fees and damages to a former client.
The client, Velda Walker, had claimed Walton slandered and harassed her as he tried to collect $2,000 that she says she didn't owe.
